The Issan province is dominated by agriculture. Rice, sweet potatoes, corn, sugar cane and all sorts of vegetables and fruits are grown in large dimensions. When agriculture amounts to around 46% of Thailand's gross domestic product it is more like 90% here in the north east of the country. One of the best places to sample the freshest products from farmers is the market aka "Talat". The fresh market of Udon Thani. A peek inside the building. Fresh veggies everywhere.

North Thailand Travel

Udon Thani is the biggest city in North East Thailand. This region is also known as Issarn province. My family lives up here and that brings me there from Bangkok three to four times per year. I will use this blog to write up my travel experiences starting from how to get there and what to do in and around the 400,000 people provincial metropolis.
